Announcements 03/31/16

Compass Testing
  • Compass testing will take place at IBHS on April 5th.  Seniors planning on going to ICC that have not taken the placement test should sign up with Ms. Caldwell. The Compass test is used for class placement/class registration purposes at ICC. Students interested in taking Dual credit that have not taken the ACT are also encouraged to sign up for the Compass test because they must pass the reading test. 

Girls State
  • Junior Girls: Information packets and applications for Girls’ State are available in the office. They must be filled out and returned by Friday, April 1st.

GTT Meetings
  • Seniors will meet in the theatre with Glasford Bank today.  

Raffle
  • Drama Boosters is raffling a Smart TV, Mini Fridge, & Chromebook. Chances are $5 each or 5 for $20. See a Drama kid for tickets. Prizes will be drawn at Anything Goes.

NHS Executive Council
  • 2016-2017 Executive Council will meet today at 2:30.

Sports
  • Softball plays tonight at home vs. DeeMack at 4:15.
  • Baseball plays at Brimfield at 4:30. Bus departs at 2:45; players should be dismissed at 2:30.

Tigers Take Care
  • If you are interested in participating in the Tigers Take Care Dodgeball Tournament on April 16th at 10:30 am, registration forms and rules are available on the IBHS Student Council website. The site can be accessed from Illini Bluffs' home page. Each team needs a minimum of 6 players (no more than 8) with an entry fee of $5 per person. Forms need to be turned into Mrs. Roderick's mailbox in the IBHS office with each player's money AND each player's insurance forms. Forms will not be accepted if they are incomplete.
  • The King and Queen of the Jungle competition is for Juniors and Seniors who want to show that they rule the school. It will be on April 12th and $5 to enter the competition. There will be a spirit, talent, and question and answer portion. Student Council members will walk around with buckets for each contestant. The contestant with the most money at the end of the night  wins. All proceeds will go to St. Jude and the Tigers Take Care Event.

Notes From The Counselor
  • Scholarships are being updated weekly on the website:
  • The last day for College visits is April 15th.  College days after this date will only be allowed at the discretion of Ms. Caldwell or Mr. Brown.

Prom
  • All Prom registrations and payments are due by this Friday, April 1st. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Nau
  • Juniors and Seniors attending Prom, make sure to register online for the 2016 Rolling on the River Prom. Instructions for the online registration and registration can be found on the registration page through the Prom website. You can access that by going through the IBHS webpage. It is under Athletics/Activities. You may also access it directly at  http://illinibluffsprom.weebly.com/registration.html.
Chamber Singers

  • Any student, grades 9-11, interested in auditioning for the IBHS Chamber Singers ensemble for the 2016-2017 school year should attend an interest meeting right after school (3:15) on Friday, April 8th in the choir room.  We will discuss expectations of those selected to sing in the ensemble, as well as go over audition materials and sign up for audition times during this meeting.  If there is a conflict and you are unable to attend the meeting, please swing by the choir room to talk with Miss Hartzell BEFORE Friday.  Auditions will be held after school on Friday, April 22nd in the choir room.
